The Culture Warriors: A look at the IDW

Listen on iTunes, Spotify, iHeartRadio, PodBean

In today’s episode Aly and I have the pleasure of having a conversation with my good friend Erik Haines (@integralrising). Erik is one of those guys with an incredible passion for books and knowledge. Our interests converge and this is the reason we decided to bring him on the show.

In this conversation we discuss the Intellectual Dark Web (IDW) and why this movement has taken prominence lately.

The IDW is at the core of the culture wars. Agree or disagree with this cohort. They have opened the floodgates to crucial conversations we ought to be having as a society. Taking a side and locking in would be a mistake. As a society we cannot afford more polarization. Gender identity, nihilism, free speech, capitalism, mythology, social cohesion, and religion are the topics at the core of the culture wars. On the other side you have thinkers who are bringing balance to the conversation. Thinkers like Michael Brooks who sadly left this earth way too young, and up and coming authors like Matt McManus are among this group.

We have covered some of these topics during this show and will definitely keep exploring many others as we go along. This is what nerds do right?

We will also do a series of episodes on Ken Wilber and Integral Theory. So look out for these very soon.
